There are two models of providing Firewall in the form of a Cisco MSLA license
ASAv
Basic security settings (firewall and VPN). ASAv setup has a very high level of customisation. It can be run via the CLI through a separate ASDM utility. The functionality can be expanded by choosing different types of licenses.
FTDV (NGFWV)
In addition to the firewall and VPN itself, it includes in-depth traffic analysis of OSI levels 4-7, SSL traffic inspection, integration with Cisco’s TALOS online security services, IPS/IDS and the ability to save statistics and analyse connections if an operational centre is available.
