S-Cloud 2.0 is the first Ukrainian cloud PaaS solution

S-Cloud 2.0 is a public cloud for applications and test environments. Use it to independently manage the scope of your resources and configure virtual machines using an API and a self-service portal.

The S-Cloud 2.0 infrastructure is built on open-source software: the OpenStack platform and the KVM hypervisor. New features can be added to the infrastructure, and it can be developed as a platform.

You can choose different S-Cloud 2.0 availability zones in Ukraine, — Kyiv or Lviv.

Learn more about S-Cloud 2.0

S-Cloud 2.0 is the most technologically advanced cloud on the Ukrainian market. It is a flexible, reliable and secure infrastructure with ample possibilities for continuous improvement, making it a true Platform as a Service (PaaS).

Open-source software allowed us to achieve the maximum balance of reliability, manufacturability and price. OpenStack and KVM are widely used to build commercial solutions by large cloud operators such as AWS.

The main components of the service:

  • Virtual resources are a share of resources available for distribution between virtual machines such as virtual cores, RAM, disk space.
  • Virtual machines are servers created within the resource share with a selectable number of virtual cores, RAM, type and volume of disk storage.
  • Network connectivity encompasses IP addresses, load balancers, VPN servers and private networks to connect virtual servers to each other.

The virtual infrastructure is tailored to deploy software from more than 150 of our IT solution partners to meet the needs of any business.

Features of S-Cloud 2.0

Intel servers

The cloud uses Intel servers equipped with two second-generation Intel Xeon Gold 6240 processors, each with 18 dual-threaded cores. The frequency of the virtual core is 2.6 GHz.

CEPH storage

The data storage is built using only SSD disks and CEPH storage technology, which ensures the reliability of the storage, replication of user data and stable high performance.

Balancer

A solution for balancing (distributing) the workload in the VM group, which accepts requests from clients on the front end and distributes them to back-end systems (after checking whether they are in working condition and respond to requests).

Internal networks and Firewall

Firewall is a software or software-hardware element of a computer network that performs two functions, acting as a shield between external and internal networks as well as managing access between virtual machines within the infrastructure.

Horizon Dashboard

Horizon is a web-based widget of the graphical Dashboard that supports basic operations in your project such as monitoring the status of virtual machines and creating snapshots.

Integration with Hostbill

The OpenStack orchestration tool is connected to a self-service client portal that facilitates quick and easy service management.

Advantages of S-Cloud 2.0 infrastructure

The most technologically advanced solution

The most technologically advanced solution

A set of OpenStack modules facilitates flexible management of computing resources, constant improvement of infrastructure and services and its development as a Platform as a Service.

Ideal price/performance ratio

Ideal price/performance ratio

The cloud is built on the basis of the KVM virtualiser and the OpenStack orchestration tool to make it cheaper for the client as there are no license payments. At the same time, it is a reliable and proven solution.

Convenient management

Convenient management

You can create virtual machines, connect them into a network, configure backups and a network screen yourself in the self-service portal or using the API.

Reliability and fault tolerance

Reliability and fault tolerance

The equipment is located in two TIER III data centres that have two or more power inputs from two different substations and diesel generators to reduce the number of single points of failure in the ISO 27001 and ISO 27701-certified IT infrastructure.

Remote desktops

SysElegance Application Server is the Ukrainian equivalent of Microsoft RDS for organising remote desktops in public cloud infrastructure on OpenStack.

The cost of the license is calculated by the number of competitive connections, not by the number of users or devices. Several employees can work independently using one connection at different times. At the same time, each of them will have its own software and desktop settings.

As part of GigaCloud’s business support programme, public cloud clients can use the license free of charge for three months from the time of order.

The offer is valid until 1 February 2023.

Backup in S-Cloud 2.0

Backup is a service designed to back up client data hosted in the S-Cloud 2.0.

It allows to:

  • avoid data loss for any reason such as cyber attack, failed update, human error, etc.;
  • set up a backup plan once and focus on service development rather than IT infrastructure maintenance;
  • quickly deploy and update typical virtual machines due to the use of a backup copy to create a virtual machine clone;
  • transparently calculate IT infrastructure reservation costs.

You can manage the Backup service using HostBill and Horizon.

Backups can be restored in two ways:

  • create a new virtual machine based on the backup copy;
  • clone virtual machines and test backups before changing a working virtual machine to one restored from a backup.

The service works only for creating backup copies in the S-Cloud 2.0 infrastructure. For other cases, there is Veeam Backup.

GigaCloud Admin

GigaCloud Admin is an advanced technical support service for virtual infrastructure

It provides timely resolution of issues and problems in the installation, configuration and maintenance of cloud infrastructure, software, networks and databases.

With GigaCloud Admin, you will no longer have to deal with administration.

The cost of the service varies from UAH 380/hour to UAH 500/hour depending on the number of hours ordered.

License software

Microsoft SPLA is a program that leases licenses to Microsoft products. Microsoft has developed the Service Provider Licensing Agreement (SPLA) specifically for cloud operators. Under the SPLA, a cloud operator provides Microsoft server software for use by its customers on the capacities of its cloud data centres. In other words, the Microsoft SPLA service will allow you to lease Microsoft software licenses, deploy them on leased virtual servers and use them legally.

Cisco MSLA (Managed Services License Agreement) is a flexible license model for service providers. It provides a fixed price for the software for the network equipment and includes a subscription for updates, support and training. Instead of buying licenses for Cisco software products, you can lease them under the Cisco MSLA model. Use software for network equipment as needed and pay only for what was actually used. As a bonus, you get to use Cisco technical support.
